Thundercat has contributed his talents to two of 2015’s outstanding albums such as Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp A Butterfly” and AOCFEST 2016 performer Kamasi Washington’s “The Epic”. Also, to bring brighter weather Thundercat has set out on his “The Beyond” EU tour in November 2015 with some shows already sold out. However, to enhance the sunrise even more Thundercat is working on the legendary Jazz pianist Herbie Hancock’s album. This album will feature collaborations from artists such as Pharrell Williams, Flying Lotus, Wayne Shorter, Carlos Santana and his wife Cindy Black Santana. To some people this may be new, but not to Thundercat since he is the regular bassist for Hancock’s band. The two musicians have formed a great bond with each other, which shows due to Hancock being open to the guidance from Thundercat while on this musical adventure. This fusion of artists is a great balance of old school and new school having each artist bring something different to the table. Also, with the new form of Jazz buzzing throughout the underground it’s always good to keep an ear to the streets for the new sound.
