Kendrea is a poet, feMC, and multimedia journalist. She has released two albums of poetry and music, published a book, and her writing has been produced for both stage and screen. She is a regular contributor to Creative Loafing – Charlotte and one of the writers of the internationally acclaimed stage production Miles & Coltrane Blue (.) by Concrete Generation. You can follow her artsy/angst comments @MEKtext and her “In These Streets” blog @InTheseTweets.
Anthony “Twenty 20” Collins is a full time Language Arts teacher, MC, poet, and mentor. Twenty 20 is a self-proclaimed “hip hop head” and has recorded and released 6 albums/mixtapes. He also has performed with the Slam Charlotte, Respect Da Mic, and Skinny Bully slam teams. Twenty recently completed his Masters of Fine Arts Creative Writing and is also writing a Hip Hop inspired graphic novel. On top of that he is cultivating 2 art related curricula focusing on enhancing Language Arts skills using Rap and Hip Hop Culture. In the end, Twenty 20 is the equivalent of Langston Hughes and Gil Scott Heron, mixed with George Carlin, and a double shot of Pryor, riding a Sonny Rollins saxophone solo over a J Dilla beat. As complicated as that may sound, imagine the impact of hearing this brother speak.
